Nouvelle Vague

nouvelle vague

These two french guys (Marc Collin & Olivier Libaux) invite beautiful girls to sing cover versions of well known songs in Bossa Nova style, like “Eisbaer” (Grauzone), “Love will tear us apart” (Joy Division), etc. So if you thought you’d escaped the New Wave Age, .. – well, nope! (Bossa Nova means “New Wave” in Portuguese). – Yes, I admit, I really enjoy them.

Nouvelle Vague also refers to a french new wave of filmmaking in the late fifties and sixties: Cineasts like Claude Chabrol and Jean-Luc Godard, among others, wanted to break with existing classic forms and ways of expression.
