Tuesday, August 16th, 2005What The Gimp
Tuesday, August 16th, 2005Have a look at the Gimp-Splash of GIMP 2.3.3 (Development Release). Notable new feature is the foreground selection tool – with SIOX from FU-Berlin involved.
Pesthorn-distorted.qtz
Sunday, August 14th, 2005It happened by accident during WTH: the distorted Pesthorn.
I somehow still like it.. – so I had to make another quartz-screensaver.
You can change the Backgroundcolour in the Prefs/Options to whatever color you prefer.
WhatTheMud – reviewed
Tuesday, August 9th, 2005“What The Mud” and what the laugh, when our kitchen tent and hackcenter were flooded within minutes, early in the morning (well, we were still awake). And not to mention several powercuts during storms… or when the RadioVillage had to be evacuated. Well, last but not least: I met lots of interesting new people! And yes, it was: a whole lot of fun.
Dome Calculator
Friday, August 5th, 2005I was certainly impressed by the little Dome, back on the WhatTheHack CampingSite. It was using an exterior skeleton – compared to “ours” from ChaosVillage, which had an interior one.
Marnix made it himself and even learned how to use a sewing machine to do it!
He recommended desertdomes.com since there is a calculator for creating all sorts of domeshapes.
What The Hammock
Friday, August 5th, 2005This cool Hammock-Tent which was blocking one of the roads in the back area, is a real product made by hennessyhammock.com. The Model we saw was called “Galliano Island”. We were wondering how to get into one of these things.. – well, straight through the bottom!
Back From WTH
Thursday, August 4th, 2005Now that I’ve recovered from our trip (ok, I’ve still got a bad cold), it’s time to put some of my pictures on that flikr-thing.
Don’t worry: an extended gallery will follow.
In the meantime you may as well look at fiedel’s or cefalon’s pics to get some more impressions.

Sunday, July 10th, 2005Farbmanagement
Dynamic Browsing with Quartz
Friday, July 8th, 2005I like the idea of browsing the Web with dynamic pictures and content – and no, I don’t mean Flash!
Falk Gärtner e.g. inputs feeds from the incom-site into his quartz screensaver in an aesthetically and technically pleasing way.
Not only does the Screensaver look nice in all sorts of sizes – the density of wiring and links inside the quartz-patches themselves is also quite fascinating. And: Pierre-Olivier Latour (the Quartz Composer Architect himself!) supported the project. So, if you have Tiger installed: give it a try – it’s worth it.
